Evika Inventory Intelligence
Know what to stock, how much to order and when to order it.
Demand-aware inventory planning and replenishment recommendations.
Overview
Evika Inventory Intelligence sits above operational inventory data as a decision-support layer — analysing demand patterns and lead times to recommend what to stock, how much to order and when, instead of just recording stock movement after the fact.
Key capabilities
- Demand analysis and demand patterns
- Consumption-rate (DRR) analysis
- Minimum stock level recommendations
- Lead-time-aware planning
- Safety stock calculation
- Replenishment and suggested order quantity
- Shortage prediction
- Explainable recommendations
Functional areas
- Demand forecasting
- Seasonal demand analysis
- Inventory coverage
- Order timing
- Simulation / forward inventory planning
- Purchasing decision support
Business benefits
- Fewer stockouts and less overstock
- Purchasing decisions backed by data, not guesswork
- Clearer visibility into what's actually driving demand
- Recommendations you can explain, not a black box
Demand Intelligence
- Analyses actual movement history rather than relying only on the current stock balance
- Blends recent and longer-term consumption windows so a short-term spike or lull doesn't distort the picture
- Recognises slow-moving and intermittent items instead of treating every SKU the same way
- Keeps the demand rate behind every recommendation visible, not buried in a black box
DRR & Demand Pattern Analysis
- Establishes a base daily run rate from usable demand history across multiple time windows
- Compares recent and historical consumption to catch a genuine shift in demand early
- Classifies demand behaviour — regular, intermittent or seasonal — rather than one formula for everything
- Exposes the demand values actually used, so planners can verify the number behind the recommendation
Seasonality
- Detects and models seasonal demand where enough history exists for the item
- Applies a seasonal uplift only when the item is currently in season or the planning horizon overlaps the upcoming one
- Avoids overstating stock outside the item's relevant seasonal window
- Shows when and why seasonality changed the effective demand rate used
Lead-Time-Aware Planning
- Calculates future stock requirements using the time actually required to replenish the item
- Resolves lead time through a fallback chain — item/SKU override, then manufacturer, then a tenant or system default
- Prevents healthy stock today from hiding a shortage that will hit before the next replenishment arrives
- Shows the lead time used in each recommendation and which level of the fallback chain it came from
Minimum Stock Level & Safety Stock
- Derives suggested MSL from effective demand, lead-time demand and a safety-stock allowance
- Keeps the current MSL out of its own calculation, so the recommendation doesn't reinforce a stale number
- Adds safety stock as protection against variability beyond expected lead-time demand, calculated separately from the base demand rate
- Recalculates as demand conditions change, and shows the arithmetic behind the suggested value
Replenishment & Stock Projection
- Recommends how much to order after weighing current stock, expected receipts and forward demand together
- Projects the stock position expected at the point the next replenishment would arrive, not just today's snapshot
- Accounts for stock already on order so it doesn't recommend duplicate supply
- Flags when an incoming quantity won't actually be enough to cover the next replenishment horizon
Shortage & Overstock Risk
- Flags items at risk of running out before the next viable receipt
- Highlights insufficient planned replenishment even when an open order already exists
- Surfaces excessive coverage and potential overstock, not just shortage risk
- Prioritises recommendations by business impact so planners work the list that matters first
Explainable Recommendations
- Shows the demand windows used, and the base and effective DRR calculated from them
- Shows the demand pattern and any seasonal adjustment applied
- Shows the lead time used and which fallback level it came from
- Shows lead-time demand, safety stock and the resulting suggested MSL
- Shows expected receipts and the suggested order quantity — and explains why the recommendation was produced
The planning questions IIS answers
- What should we stock?
- How much stock should we carry?
- When will the current stock run short?
- What is already on the way?
- Is the incoming quantity actually enough?
- What should we order next, and when?
- Why is IIS recommending that action?
